Welcome to the 2013 golf season at Bradley Park Golf Club to all prospective, new and long term members. It is with great pride I will be helping to lead our club, with your help, during what I hope will be a year of competitive yet friendly and honest golf.
Thank you to Nick Howe for his efforts as Captain in what was a very damp 2012. Despite many re-arranged competitions, Nick maintained his positive commitment to assist with steering the ship in what were particularly challenging waters. I also wish to pass my thanks and congratulations to Andy Bemrose for his year as Rabbit Captain. I believe I speak for many members of the club when I say it was a pleasure to have Andy completing the role of Rabbit Captain to such a high standard and look forward to seeing him challenged by further senior roles within the club in the not too distant future.
As seasoned golfers, we know how much the weather has affected our hobby during recent years and particularly through 2012. When you add to this the obvious financial restrainsts many people have felt during a double dip recession, many local clubs are losing members. I feel we are in a better position than most to attract these potential club mates, so please let us work together during 2013 to strengthen our club numbers.
For my year as Captain I have chosen the Seve Ballesteros Foundation as my chosen charity. All golfers know the Seve story, his natural brilliance as a golfer, the amazing success of his Ryder Cup captaincy and his ultimate challenge against cancer. Please support our efforts with fundraising for this very worthy charity by clicking on the link at the bottom right of our site.
Have a fantastic season and please support my fellow Captains..
Good luck to you all.
I would like to welcome you to the 2013/2014 golf season at BPGC. Should you be new to the club and qualify as a Rabbit, please contact me as I would be very happy to have a round of golf with you and let you know about the Rabbits team, social events and competitions.
When I started to play golf in 2005, it was not in my mind to become involved with the organisation of the club but I was very honoured to have been asked to be your Rabbits Captain for 2013. We have a full calendar of golf and social events planned for the forthcoming season and I look forward to your support.
I wish to thank the outgoing captains and all the committee members for their hard work and advice over the past year. Congratulations to our new Club Captain, Lady Captain and Junior Captain on your appointments and I look forward to working with you. I also look forward to meeting new members of the Rabbits section and veterans and finally I wish all BPGC members a successful golf season for 2013.
Good luck and may the sun shine.
Dear prospecitve, new and long term members.
I am looking forward to my year as Captain in 2013. As I was Captain in 2002 it was a bit of a suprise to be asked to be Captain again and I am sure I will enjoy it even more this time!
This year I would like to see the four sections of the club working together, in both social and golfing aspects to make this year a really enjoyable and prosperous one for the club and the members.
Thanks to the outgoing captains for making it a successful and enjoyable year in 2012 and best wishes to the incoming captains – I am looking forward to working with all of them. Congratulations and best wishes also go to my Vice Captain Linda.
Finally, I hope the weather will be a bit kinder to us and wish everyone a successful years golfing.
