Save Bradley Park

Bradley Park Golf Course is under threat of closure as the 120 acres site has been identified by Kirklees Council as a potential site for over 2000 new houses.  This housing development would see the complete closure of our course.  As part of our support to KAL, Tom Wild & his team and every member of BPGC, we are asking all golfers, neighbours and friends of Bradley Park to help fight against this development.

The first part of the redevelopment process is a consultation period which starts on Monday 9th November and runs for 6 weeks until 21st December.  In short, we have just 6 weeks to get the site off the development plan and keep this highly regarded public facility open.  We urge everyone to go to the Kirklees Consultation page and express your view before the end of the 6 week period.

You will be asked to register a user name and password which we know is time consuming but please don’t be put off, help us to let Kirklees Council know how highly thought of this excellent facility is whilst continuing to provide golf education, practice and competition facilities to the wider golfing public of Yorkshire and beyond.

Bradley Park Golf Club is the foremost club based on a municipal golf course in Yorkshire whose tradition dates back to 1978 and the inception of the club on Bradley Road Huddersfield. We are a private members club with members in all categories, ages, and abilities. We have sections catering for gentlemen, ladies and juniors, and within those, there are groups that support higher handicappers and beginners, right through to single figure players and elite County representatives. If you are interested in membership, please see here.

The parkland course is extremely well maintained and presents a challenge to golfers of all abilities and there are a variety of practice facilities to enhance your skills as well as fantastic professional support from the PGA club professional, Tom Wild and his assistants. All the right ingredients to get your handicap tumbling, or to get you started, playing our wonderful game!

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming club where there is a wide range of golf to be enjoyed including open days, team and fun competitions, through to handicap qualifying events, as well as knock-out match play competitions. We also have a strong social section available for all members to participate in and enjoy. All of our golfing sections play matches against their equivalent groups at other local clubs and if you enjoy competitive golf, this is a great way to meet other players and play other local courses for the price of a meal.

Please feel free to have a good look at our website and if you require any further information do not hesitate to contact any of the club representatives. We look forward to talking to you and hopefully having a round of golf in the near future.
