Well done Edward.

Seniors Open Day 2013
Rabbits league team
The Rabbits completed their league fixtures last night with both pairs beating their counterparts from Saddleworth. The team of Cliff Froggett and Phil Smith won 3&1 then it was fitting that Mr Rabbit Captain and Donald Harrison closed the season by winning 1 up and taking the team to the league championship. A great effort by the Rabbits all year.
Following a request by Saddleworth there was also a 4 man friendly game played last night. With the circling thunder only 13 holes were played so a couple of extra drinks were had by many producing an excellent environment in the clubhouse for a wet Tuesday evening. The evening culminated in a freshly made chocolate cake being produced from the kitchen and shared between the players. Thanks for the cake must go to Phil Millette…..very nice!!

10/07/2013 – Buck Sheba
Buck Rabbit Trophy 2013
This is a season long competition with points for the best 15 scores each week being accumulated.
We’re almost at the halfway point for the season and Paul Walton’s consistent golf has earned him a healthy 10 point lead at the top of the table, but there is a sizeable pack hot on his heels.
There are extra points available to winners and runners up in both Rabbits knockout competitions, so get playing – there is still plenty of time to overtake Paul!
It’s tight at the top of the Sheba table this year. With 5 rounds to play Brad Haywood has the slenderest of leads with some big names stalking within a couple of points.

With the annual social event only 5 days away, it is great to hear that Saturdays golf will have the most teams playing in the competitions history. With 15 teams now signed up lets hope the positive weather forecast that has been given out ring true.
Don’t forget the post golf celebrations in the clubhouse on Saturday evening. As things stand, Vital Signs are planning on an outdoor show for us. fingers crossed!
08/07/2013 – Kirkwood Hospice Day
Yesterday was a day for great celebration at the club as the annual cheque presentation was made to Kirkwood Hospice. The annual golf day that is brilliantly organised and supported by a great number of members and friends of the club, this year contributed £10,021.00. Well done to everyone involved – a fantastic effort.
07/07/2013 – Club Championship Results
Another fantastic day of warm sunshine and virtually no winds (how often have you seen the flag behind 12 totally limp?) met the participants in today’s second round of the Club Championships. The ladies led the way with some good scoring and the Ladies Champion for 2013 is Megan Clarke, who shot a combined gross of 152. The winner of the ladies Jubilee Cup was Sarah Pickett with a combined nett of 139. Very well done ladies.
For the gents, a number of trophies were being played for and it was great to see a very good number of players staying behind to see who came out on top.
Last years winner Alex Malins fought off the challenge of his more experienced playing partners to retain the Club Championship and also added the Taylor Crystal nett prize by one shot to Jordan Taylor, who came so close to winning the prize in memory of his father.
Jordan did however come out on top by winning the high handicappers competition whilst Roy Suddick won the Rabbits prize and Graham Hollingdrake the 8-15. Well done to everyone who played the full 36 holes and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
06/07/2013 – Club Championship
Fantastic weather has blessed our 1st round of the Club Championship today with hardly a cloud seen. Matching the quality weather has been some of the scoring which sees John Lingard with a 1 stroke lead going into the 2nd round tomorrow. If John wins it will be his 4th success, but his playing partners on Sunday of Paul Kaye and Alex Malins will have something to say in the competition before the trophy is given out.
The surprise of the day was Harry Belafonte who shot a net 66 and goes out in the 6th group tomorrow. Good luck Harry, show those tigers how it is done!
The draw for the 2nd round can be seen by following the below link:
Round 2 draw
04/07/2013 – Twitter update
The club Twitter account @BPGCmembers is growing with 16 followers and 48 tweets made in less than a month since it was created. Should you follow us, you will see we are following a number of pro golfers and publications so there is some good information being provided, as well as Club news.
Ladies go down fighting
The ladies were unlucky last night going down 2.5 v 1.5 at home versus Crow Nest. With all our ladies giving shots to their opponents it was going to be difficult and only Sarah Pickett took a full point and Linda Bemrose a half.
Rabbits top of the league
Following the most recent publication of the league positions, it is great to see our Rabbits team topping Section D. Providing they avoid two very bad results in their final matches they should, at the very least, be promoted and are expecting to top the Division with only games against Saddleworth home and away to come.
02/07/2013 – Nett 59 wins the Quache
A brilliant score of Nett 59 won the Quache on Sunday by 2 shots. The winning pair of A Stringer & P Smith deserve congratulations on their fine score. Well done lads!
Club Championship updated draw
In our recent survey, Lee Westwood came out on top of your votes as the favourite for this months event. He drew as many votes as all of the American golfers combined so lets hope everyone is right. COME ON LEE, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
The new survey for July asks a rather more important question and for the next month we are asking you to comment on the weekly 2’s and bits. We would like to know our members preferences with regard to what they would like to pay towards and for the first time are giving a free text box for you to give your own suggestions. Please take a look and help us work towards our members preferences by telling us which you prefer.
